Build and assign a training program
Create a template, build the blocks, copy it to a client, and push it live in their app.
How to build a training program for a client, save it as a template, and assign it so the workouts appear in their app. Covers blocks, exercises from the library, copying a template to a client and pushing the program live.
A program is a set of blocks. Each block runs for a number of weeks, each week has workouts, and each workout lists exercises with sets, reps, load, rest and tempo. You build programs once as templates, then give each client their own copy. Copies are independent, so you can tweak one client's program without touching the template or anyone else.
Build a template
- Open Programs in the sidebar. You are on Program Templates.
- Click Add New. Enter a Template Name, the Number of weeks per block, Sessions per week, a description, tags and an Experience Level. Optionally upload a cover image. Click Save.
- You land in the builder on Block 1. Name the block at the top.
- In the Cards view, each column is a week. Click Add Workout, name it, then Add Exercise to pick from the library. If an exercise does not exist, type its name and choose Create as a new exercise.
- Set Sets, Reps, Load and Rest. Click Add set for a second scheme, such as a top set after working sets. Tick Reps per side or Tempo where it matters, and add Notes for the client.
- Use Add superset between two exercises to pair them. Use Duplicate workout to all weeks to copy a day across the block, and Duplicate week to copy a whole week to the end.
- Switch to Sheet view to see the block as a spreadsheet, days down and weeks across. Row changes there apply to every week; cell edits apply to one week.
- Click Save. Nothing is stored until you do. The button reads Saved when there is nothing left to save.
- Back on the template card, click Add Block for the next block and repeat.
Give it to a client
- On the template card, click Copy to athlete and choose the client. The toast confirms the copy. Nothing is visible to the client yet.
- Open the client (My Clients → their row → Open full profile) and click the Programs tab. Their copy is listed with every block switched off.
- Flip a block's switch on. Choose Push now, or pick a date and click Schedule to have it go live on that day.
- The client gets a "New training block available" notification. In their app they open the program, tap Add to Calendar, pick a start date and their workout days, and the workouts are placed for them.
See what they did
- Programs → Client Activity: pick a client to see every logged set, skipped exercises, swaps and notes.
- The Calendar tab inside the client's workspace shows their scheduled workouts and lets you move or edit sessions in a pushed block.
If it is not working
- The client says there is no program. Assigning does not show anything. A block must be pushed, and then the client must tap Add to Calendar in the app. Check the switch on the client's Programs tab.
- A scheduled block has not appeared on the day. Scheduled pushes run hourly, not at midnight. Choosing today pushes immediately.
- Edit block is missing and there is a lock icon. Pushed blocks are edited from the client's Calendar tab. A block the client has trained can never be rewritten or deleted. Archive the program instead.
- "This program has training history and can't be removed." Use Archive program. Archiving does not hide it from the client. Switch the blocks off too if you want it gone from their app.
- I edited the template but the client's program did not change. Copies are independent by design. Edit the client's copy on their Programs tab.
- "You already have an exercise with that name." Exercise names are unique per trainer. Search for the existing one.
- An exercise video will not play. Only YouTube and Vimeo links embed. Anything else must be a direct video file such as an .mp4.
- Lost work after switching tabs. The builder asks Keep editing / Discard / Save & close when you leave with unsaved changes. Choose Save & close.
